Job Description : What You'll Do
Performs a complete safety and mechanical check of the Yard truck and trailers to be moved.Climbs up into cab, drives to trailers, backs up to the trailer, raises 5th wheel, makes connections, climbs down to remove wheel chock, climb up into cab and drives away.Backs the trailer into the designed spot, disconnects the trailer, installs chocks.Drives forklift to make up cross dock loads.Perform housekeeping duties, keep floors clean, and keep work areas neat and clean.Ace Hardware is committed to promoting and maintaining a safe, healthy and injury-free environment for all team members. What you need to succeed :
Be a safety champion by promoting a safe and productive workplace through your own actions, including the proper use of PPE, safe operation of powered equipment and safe lifting techniques as determined by the role.Be an active participant in contributing to a successful safety culture in the facility.High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.Must be at least 18 years of age.Ability and willingness to work non-traditional shifts and hours.CDL A Certification.Hazmat and Doubles endorsements.Minimum 1 year driving tractor / trailer combinations.Knowledge of DOT regulations on equipment standards and inspections.Equal Opportunity Employer : Ace Hardware Corporation is committed to a policy of promoting equal employment opportunities.
