The Online Special Education Program Coordinator plays a vital role in delivering specialized education in an online environment. This certified educator is dedicated to providing tailored instruction, support, and guidance, while managing the learning process to meet the individual needs outlined in each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).

This is a full-time position requiring the ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week. A professional home office devoid of distractions during the standard work hours (9-5 or 8-4) is essential.

Key Responsibilities :

The following duties are essential for this role. Accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

  • Ensure that all special education and related services are provided in accordance with the IEP team decisions, including :
  • Regular communication with parents and related service staff to verify that students are receiving necessary therapies
  • Development of compliant IEPs, progress reports, and other required special education documentation
  • Facilitating collaborative special education meetings, including annual IEP meetings
  • Utilizing provided resources for necessary accommodations and modifications tailored for students with disabilities, such as assistive technology and accessible materials
  • Modify Stride K12 lessons and assessments according to specified IEP requirements
  • Promote the inclusion and success of students in general education settings
  • Collect data and work samples to track student progress toward IEP goals
  • Document all communications with parents and interventions with students
  • Analyze student data to identify needs for remediation and enrichment
  • Provide engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences
  • Commit to personalizing learning for every student
  • Uphold high expectations for all students, believing in their potential to succeed
  • Maintain a grade book to ensure academic integrity, make placement decisions, and alert administration to performance concerns
  • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments
  • Establish and nurture positive relationships with families, maintaining regular communication with students and parents
  • Support learning coaches / parents with curricular and instructional issues, including basic troubleshooting in a virtual classroom environment
  • Be open to traveling up to 20% of the time for professional development, student testing, or as required by the organization.

Qualifications : Minimum Required :

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Active State Special Education teaching license
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Other Required Qualifications :

  • Strong collaboration skills with educators for interpreting and utilizing student data
  • Receptiveness to regular coaching from administrators
  • Ability to adapt to changes that enhance student outcomes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Quick to learn new technologies and teaching platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Desired Qualifications :

  • Experience working with the targeted age group of students
  • Experience in supporting both adults and children in technology usage
  • Experience teaching in online (virtual) and / or traditional classroom settings
  • Familiarity with online learning platforms
  • Compensation & Benefits :

    Stride, Inc. takes into account education, experience, qualifications, work location, and other relevant factors when determining salary. The anticipated salary range for this position is $49,100 - $52,000. Eligible employees may earn bonuses. Salaries may vary based on factors such as geographic location and qualifications.

    This position is classified as exempt (salary). Stride offers a competitive benefits package, which may include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
