ChuukeseAbout the Role : Universal Language Service, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and professional Bilingual Customer Service & Language Specialist ( Chuukese ) join our team. This dual-role position combines real-time over-the-phone and video remote interpretation (OPI / VRI) services with administrative responsibilities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, communicative, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. Key Responsibilities :
Interpretation & Customer Support
- Deliver real-time OPI / VRI interpretation services in Chuukese and English
- Assist interpreters with completing and updating profiles and documentation
- Follow up with interpreters to ensure records are current and compliant
- Maintain clear and professional communication with interpreters and internal teams
- Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and accuracy
- Coordinate interpreter assignments, efficiently manage schedules, and ensure accurate and timely fulfillment of client requests
- Maintain interpreter account records, updating information related to assignments, availability, and billing accurately
- Proactively troubleshoot scheduling issues, providing timely and effective solutions
Requirements :
- Strong bilingual proficiency in English and Chuukese
- Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage administrative documentation
- Ability to work full-time, on-site (Monday-Friday, 8 : 00 AM-5 : 00 PM PST or 8 : 30 AM-5 : 30 PM PST)
- Prior interpretation experience preferred
- Medical DSHS or national interpreter certification / qualification (e.g. NBCMI, CCHI, Other) is a plus (support provided for those seeking DSHS Medical recognition)
Education & Professional Background :
- Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Human Resources, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in customer service, scheduling, recruiting, onboarding, interpretation, or translation
Work Environment & Screening Requirements :
- This is a full-time, on-site position based at our Bellevue, WA corporate office
- Remote work is not permitted
- Candidates must pass a full-panel drug and alcohol screening and a national criminal background check
Compensation :
- Up to $25 per hour, depending on qualifications and relevant experience
