VACANCY: The Valley View Public School District is seeking an individual to fill an Extended School Year Social Worker position. This is a temporary position serving students from kindergarten through High School.

Orientation: June 1, 2026
Date: June 2, 2026 - June 30, 2026 *No classes on June 19th, 2026
Staff Hours: 8:30am-12:45pm (PNR); 7:45am-12:00pm (BHS)
Location: PNR; BHS

JOB SUMMARY: The Social Worker will provide both direct and consultative support to students requiring social work support. The Social Worker is responsible for working cooperatively with ESY personnel in the identification, diagnosis, and remediation of individual students with specialized needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current Illinois (PEL) Professional Educator License, School Social Worker (PK-12)
• Excellent communications skills with students, teachers, parents and SRT, and a willingness to spend the time to assure that such communication takes place
• Satisfactory special education social worker experience
• Must possess thorough knowledge of behavior management/group counseling techniques
• Must possess thorough ability to provide social skills training to students
• Demonstrated experience in providing parent education
• Previous experience with Extended School year preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS: Teachers will be paid $40.00 per hour. Applicants must work the entire summer session. No vacation times or subs are acceptable.
