Phantom Works, a division within Boeing’s Defense, Space & Security, is growing. The successful candidate will have deep experience with Flight technology development, Flight integration, vendor management, and customer interaction. Candidates should have strong technical depth in at least one of the following skills : Guidance, Navigation, & Control; Aerodynamics; Propulsion; Loads & Dynamics; Configuration Development; or Mass Properties. In addition, experience leading teams to include either IRAD efforts, CRAD efforts or integrated teams is essential.

Position Responsibilities :

Manages a team of Flight engineers

Works with Chief Engineers to develop strategy for Flight Technologies and tools across Phantom Works

Coordinates Flight work among various disciplines and locations to assure consistent Phantom Works Support by Flight aligned engineering

Develops budgets and plans, executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives

Proposes new work

Interfaces with program management, customers and vendor personnel.

Evaluates vendor proposals and manage contracted work

Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill / Experience) :

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

10+ years of experience in a Flight engineering discipline

5+ years of experience leading teams

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience) :

Ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance

Prior management or team lead experience

Excellent communication skills.

Experience with Boeing military programs and processes.

Experience developing and administering budgets, schedules and performance standards.

Prior oversight of technical effort of medium sized or multi-skill teams.

Mentoring or technical lead engineer experience.

Typical summary pay ranges for Berkeley, MO, Mesa, AZ : $198,900 - $269,100

Typical summary pay ranges for Ridley Park, PA; Tukwila, WA; El Segundo, CA : $212,500 - $287,500
