Consultant to Senior Consultant - Commodity & Energy Trading US Oil & Petrochemicals Markets
Our Commodity & Energy Trading practice is looking for experienced Consultants & Senior Consultants to join the team. Our clients rely on our deep industry expertise to navigate a trading landscape defined by price volatility, increasingly complex value chains, and evolving regulatory demands. We support them in defining and executing trading strategies, assessing and enhancing business capabilities, driving technology and digital transformation, and managing risk and regulatory compliance effectively.
As part of our team, you will work closely with clients on the following types of challenging, high-impact engagements:
- Strategy & Commercial Advisory US market entry and establishment, commercial trading & hedging strategy, commercial collaboration models, book structure & transfer pricing
- Business Capability Development trading capability assessment & benchmarking, trading capability design, operating & organization design, business process design, business change program planning, business & IT readiness & training, operational excellence
- Risk & Regulatory Advisory risk strategy definition, risk management policy design, risk capability assessment & design (market, credit, operational, climate, etc.), regulatory & compliance capability assessment & design (KYC, AML, trade surveillance, etc.)
- Data & Analytics Advisory data & analytics strategy / architecture design, data & analytics solution design & delivery
- Technology Advisory & Transformation technology strategy & architecture design, IT operating model design, technology capability building, technology program QA & health checks, vendor selection & implementation
Our Consultant role requires 2+ years experience (Senior Consultant 3-5 years) in a consulting or industry role, with experience in Commodity & Energy Trading initiatives. We are seeking individuals with strong client delivery and relationship-building skills, coupled with deep advisory expertise in the following areas:
- Experience in crude oil, refined products, natural gas liquids (NGLs), petrochemicals, and freight trading markets
- Comprehensive understanding of the energy and petrochemicals value chains
- Capability assessments and target operating model development for trading organizations
- Experience in leading business and IT transformation programs, including change management
- Experience in advisory support for market entry and trading readiness initiatives
- Knowledge of risk management frameworks and regulatory compliance
- Experience in strategy, design, and implementation of advanced analytics platforms for trading organizations
- Experience in client-side advisory for modernizing trading systems, with a focus on market leading vendor solutions such as OpenLink, RightAngle, along with others
