The Development and Community Engagement Coordinator is a professional position in which the incumbent is responsible for:

• Administrative and Customer Support
• Research and Analysis
• Fundraising
• Community Engagement
• Communications

The Development & Community Engagement Coordinator position has a broad array of responsibilities of working with program leadership and external stakeholders to ensure maximum community involvement, fundraising and awareness of Merakey and Merakey Allegheny Valley School activities and accomplishments.

This role reports directly to the Development & Community Engagement Manager and will work collaboratively with the Development & Communications Manager. Teamwork and coordination within the Department is essential, with responsibilities often shared among members of the Department. The Development and Community Engagement Coordinator takes direction regarding the scope of that responsibility from the Development and Community Engagement Manger.

Assignments are carried out under the supervision of the Development & Community Engagement Manager and work is reviewed through reports, events and evaluations of results obtained. Evening and weekend commitments as they present themselves for donor events, networking engagements, etc.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:.

• Highschool Diploma/GED
• 1-3 years experience in administrative and customer support, nonprofit fundraising, or related field with a demonstrated record of success in individual and corporate giving, human services (intellectual and developmental disabilities division) and/or event planning is a plus.
