Position : Associate Director of Acquisitions

— The role collaborates with regional leadership on the acquisition of commercial and multifamily assets across Bay Area markets (and Pacific Northwest). The successful candidate will evaluate potential transactions, manage the due diligence process, prepare internal investment memorandums, and work closely with junior and senior team members.

This role requires 5 days in office at our San Francisco, CA location.

Responsibilities

Deal Execution : Lead and manage the execution of transactions, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of work products to meet internal deadlines. Oversee or contribute to all aspects of the deal process, including underwriting, financial analysis, due diligence, structuring, documentation, and business plan development.

Team Management : Lead and mentor junior team members (Associates and Analysts), coordinate and delegate tasks, and foster a collaborative, inclusive team culture with opportunities for professional development.

Business Development : Identify, evaluate, and pursue potential equity and debt investment opportunities; engage in networking to build relationships; stay updated on market trends, industry developments, and the competitive landscape to identify deal opportunities.

Financial Analysis : Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including financial modeling and valuation; interpret data to inform investment strategy.

Travel : Regular travel to Bay Area markets is required; occasional travel to other regional offices may be required.

Qualifications

BA / BS required.

Minimum 5–7 years of related real estate experience; at least 5 years of transaction experience.

High integrity, intellectual curiosity, and strong work ethic.

Strong knowledge of commercial real estate market dynamics, asset types, trends, and investment analysis.

Ability to work independently and in a team, with meticulous attention to detail.

Exceptional business writing, communication, and negotiation skills; ability to build and maintain relationships with brokers, owners, and industry professionals.

Advanced real estate finance skills, including complex deal modeling in Excel and ARGUS.

Familiarity with joint venture agreements, loan agreements, and purchase & sale contracts.

SF Bay Area knowledge and relationships preferred but not required.

High initiative, strong collaboration across functions, and a growth mindset.

The person in this position must be able to :

Remain in a stationary position for 75% of the time while working on a computer and attending virtual meetings.

Occasionally move about the office to access files and attend meetings.
