The immediate vacancy is with the Department of Health and located in Manoa to Kahala.

Rotating Shift Work : All applicants must be available to work rotating shifts, including evening, weekends, and holidays.

Salary :

Level I - $4,218 per month (HE-02, Step A)

Level II - $4,371 per month (HE-04, Step A)

Provides a variety of moderately difficult personal care services and procedures; implements assigned adjunctive services; participates in providing therapeutic services; may participate in a planned training program; and performs other related duties as assigned.

The primary purpose of this position is to perform duties in support of nursing services for the Hansen's disease patients of the Hale Mahalu Care Home, and to provide direct patient care under the general supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse, a Licensed Practical Nurse, or a Physician. The position requires working a rotating shift, weekends, and holidays.

To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements :

For Level I :

Knowledge and Abilities Required :

Knowledge of : General principles of personal hygiene and bodily care, and housekeeping.

Ability to : Follow oral and written instructions precisely; get along well with others; acquire and demonstrate an attitude of respect toward patients with a variety of disabilities; retain emotional stability despite emotional and physical pressures; develop an appreciation of nursing and medical ethics.

For Level II :

Knowledge and Abilities Required :

Knowledge of : General principles of personal hygiene and bodily care, and housekeeping.

Ability to : Follow oral and written instructions precisely; get along well with others; acquire and demonstrate an attitude of respect toward patients with a variety of disabilities; retain emotional stability despite emotional and physical pressures; develop an appreciation of nursing and medical ethics.

Specialized Experience : One (1) year of work experience in health facilities such as hospitals, clinics, health centers and other medically oriented institutions where the primary or basic objective was to provide for the maximum physical, mental and / or emotional health of the patient and which duties involved :

1) The observation and reporting of a variety of physical and / or mental symptoms and conditions and / or

2) Implementing care and / or treatment procedures.

This experience must be comparable in scope and difficulty to the Para Medical Assistant I position, performing simple and routine tasks relating to the care of patients or residents; providing related services required for the operations of the facility, participating in a planned training program and performing other duties as assigned.

Driver's License : Some positions require possession of a valid driver's license at the time of appointment. One of the immediate vacancy has this requirement.
