Job Title : Machine Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and mechanically inclined individual to join our team as a Machine Operator. This position operates on a swing shift from Monday to Thursday, 3 : 30 PM to 2 : 00 AM. The successful candidate will assist in the machining of large metal parts for production and become proficient in operating a 4-axis horizontal mill.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the machining of large metal parts for production.
• Operate 4-axis horizontal mill and become proficient in its use.
• Change inserts and maintain a clean and organized work area around the machine.
• Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate production.
• Use precision measurement instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
• Conduct production run set-ups and use tooling, fixturing, segment selection, and safety procedures for grinders.
• Adjust machine settings as necessary to maintain production quality.
• Stay proactive about workstation preparation and cleanup.
• 1-3 years of machining experience.
• Proficiency with hand tools.
• Experience with calipers and micrometers.
• Mechanical aptitude and interest in becoming a production machinist.
• Basic math comprehension, including the ability to identify measurements down to thousandths.
• Ability to lift 50-75 lbs.

Work Environment

The role is based in an open industrial machine shop environment with open bay doors, located approximately 0.5 miles from our headquarters. The shop produces roughly 1,200 parts a month and is very process-driven, with run cycle times varying from 1 hour to 5 minutes. Dress code is typical for an industrial setting, requiring safety gear as necessary.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilsonville, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00 / hr.
