Senior Accountant, CT Operations

Core Responsibilities :

• Responsible for core accounting and financial reporting related activities of East Granby OEM business and supporting East Granby CRO and East Hartford Operations as required by the Finance Leader.
• Responsible for supporting the monthly financial closing and financial reporting for the businesses, in accordance with US GAAP.
• Proactively engaging in partnering with our outsourced Shared Services provider around Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and certain accounting and reporting related tasks.
• Maintain accuracy of the general ledger, including balance sheet reconciliations with a focus on timely and proper identification and disposition of reconciling items through business interactions and partnership with outsource provider.
• Monitor Vouchers Payable Report weekly and works with outsource provider / Shared Services Team and Division Purchasing / Shipping / Receiving personnel to disposition aged items.
• Support a strong internal control environment by ensuring adequate processes and procedures are in place in accordance with Barnes Aerospace policies.
• Support upstream daily, weekly, and monthly reporting for business leadership, ensuring accurate and timely results.
• Ensure all financial reporting deadlines and deliverables are met (monthly, quarterly, and annually).
• Work directly with Leadership to identify / promote continuous improvement and Lean initiatives in operations, asset management and productivity programs to maximize operating efficiencies and profitability.
• Continuous partnership with the Data Analytics and IT teams during all system enhancements and integrations
• Own the recording of all Payroll transactions processed by Shared Services Payroll, including proper and timely disposition of suspense transactions.
• Support annual physical inventory and cycle counting requirements.
• Monitor and maintain the integrity of the business data in databases used for various business reporting tools.
• Perform various financial analyses and special projects as requested / directed by Site leadership and Barnes Aerospace HQ.
