Picture this : you receive a new job traveler, confirm details with engineering, and translate prints with GD&T into an efficient set‑up on both horizontal and vertical machining centers. You validate the first piece with micrometers, calipers, and pin gages, tweak offsets or G‑code to hit nominal, and then submit for First Article approval—keeping everything documented in ERP with accurate time entries.

Your Impact

• Set up and operate HMCs and VMCs for production runs and prototypes; prior experience with both is required.
• Edit G‑code and propose improvements to existing programs to enhance quality and throughput.
• Collaborate with engineering, supervision, and manufacturing teams to exchange technical know‑how and drive continuous improvement.
• Interpret blueprints and verbal instructions; apply a practical understanding of GD&T.
• Perform meticulous in‑process checks and a comprehensive machine‑side “First Piece” inspection before submitting for First Article approval.
• Record precise job times in the ERP system and coordinate with production planning for accurate scheduling.
• Demonstrate Good Machining Practices (GMP), maintain 5S, and adhere to all safety procedures.
