Join a stable precision manufacturer in Batavia, IL serving custom machining and machine rebuilds for packaging equipment and engineered systems. This is a direct-hire, first-shift role built for a CNC pro who can program, set up, and run Haas VMCs with confidence.

Are you the person who can...

  • Take an engineering drawing and build a right-first-time CAM program?
  • Choose the right tools, feeds / speeds, and workholding for accuracy and throughput?
  • Set up a Haas 3–4 axis VMC, run first-article parts, and dial in quality?
  • Troubleshoot chatter, tool wear, or finish issues without missing a beat?

What you’ll tackle

  • Programming in Mastercam (or similar CAM)
  • Setting up and operating Haas CNC mills for precision components
  • Fixture design / build, plus process optimization for repeatable results
  • Inspection with calipers, gauges, and basic metrology tools
  • Secondary operations : deburring, drilling, tapping; occasional manual machining
  • Partnering with engineering and senior machinists on improvements
  • Keeping the work area safe, clean, and organized; supporting adjacent shop work as needed

    • Must-haves

  • 2+ years CNC milling setup / operation
  • 1+ year Mastercam or equivalent CAM experience
  • Blueprint / engineering drawing literacy
  • Competence with calipers and basic inspection gear
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving mindset
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs; stand throughout the shift
  • Comfort in a non-climate-controlled environment
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to read and write in English

  • Proven process optimization wins in CNC milling
  • Fixture design / build experience
  • Manual machining background
  • Experience in machine rebuild or custom equipment settings
