Physician Assistant - Pediatrics Responsibilities & Duties
Conduct physical exams and take medical histories
Diagnoses and treat illnesses, injuries, and other pediatric conditions
Develop and implement treatment plans
Prescribe medications and therapies
Perform routine pediatric procedures like vaccinations and suturing
Monitor and record patient progress
Educate patients and their families about health conditions and preventive care
Order and interpret diagnostic tests
Assist in surgical procedures when necessary
Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
Provide emergency care and first aid to pediatric patients
Conduct follow-up visits to monitor patient recovery
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation

Requirements
Physician Assistant - Pediatrics Qualifications & Skills
Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Specialized training or coursework in pediatric care
Previous experience in a pediatric healthcare setting
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Bilingual skills are a plus
Knowledge of pediatric growth and development
Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems
Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate and patient-centered care
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program
Valid Physician Assistant state license
Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications
Strong clinical skills in pediatric care
Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively with a healthcare team
Commitment to ongoing professional development and education
Salary Description
$100,000.00 to $150,000.00
