American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele position in a cardiac post-procedural unit, requiring EPIC experience and strong cardiac skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a hospital-based cardiac post-procedural unit with 19-23 beds, serving patients from the Cath Lab and EP LabPatient population includes post-procedural cardiac cases and cardiac overflow such as TAVR, STEMI, angioplasty, stenting, heart failure, and arrhythmiasTypical RN patient ratios are 1 : 3-4 on days and 1 : 4-5 on nightsNo CNA support in the PACU space overnightNurses read monitors and respond directly; no monitoring techUtilizes EPIC EMR (experience required), Alaris IV pumps, Phillips monitors, and Omnicell medication dispensingShifts are 7p-7a with a 36-hour work week; weekend rotation not currently required but may changeTravelers may float within CMC Main within or below their scopeNo on-call responsibilityTravelers are scheduled to work 75% of holidaysRole involves caring for post-procedure cardiac patients, managing cardiac drips, reading telemetry, and assisting with procedures and emergenciesFast-paced, team-oriented unit with support from CNAs, HUC, charge nurse, RTs, hospitalists, and cardiology providers; strong expectation of teamwork and flexibilityOrientation includes about one week with NEO, adjusted based on previous experience and comfort levelNavy scrubs required for this unitFree parking available on siteRTO requires manager approvalUnit culture emphasizes teamwork, mutual support, and willingness to assist with all staff duties\n \n Requirements\n
Active NC or compact RN license requiredCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications requiredA minimum of 2 years of relevant PCU RN experience requiredMust have completed at least one previous 13-week travel assignmentStrong cardiac skillset including rhythm interpretation, cardiac drips, trach, PIV / CVL / Midline management, chest tube care, BGT / DHT placement, and arrhythmia managementRequired experience with TR bands; experience with femoral sheaths preferredExperience with EPIC EMR is requiredCandidates must permanently reside at least 50 miles from the home unit\n Benefits\n
