American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a fast-paced Med / Surg Tele position in a cardiac post-procedural unit requiring EPIC and cardiac skillset proficiency.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a cardiac post-procedural unit within a Level I Trauma, teaching hospitalUnit serves Cath Lab and EP Lab patients, with average daily census of 19 and up to 23 beds overnightTypical patient population includes TAVR, STEMI, angioplasty, stenting, heart caths, pacemaker insertion, TR bands, heart failure, and arrhythmia casesRN-to-patient ratio is 1 : 3-4 on days and 1 : 4-5 on nightsShift options available for 12-hour nights (1900-0700), with scheduling every 6 weeksNo weekend rotation is currently required, but this is subject to changeNo on-call or call-back responsibilitiesFloating may occur within designated hospital and within or below scopeTravelers are scheduled to work 75% of holidaysUses EPIC EMR (experience required), Alaris pumps, Omnicell, and Phillips monitorsNurses are responsible for direct monitoring and response to telemetry without monitoring tech supportTeam includes CNAs, charge nurse, HUC, phlebotomy, IV / VAT, RT, hospitalists and specialists for 24 / 7 supportDepartment culture emphasizes teamwork, a supportive environment, and willingness to assist with all staff duties, including CNA tasksCollaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic and quick-turnover settingNo regular interaction with cardiac surgeons; primary collaboration is with general cardiology and interventional teamsOrientation typically lasts one week, including both facility and unit training based on skill levelNavy scrubs are requiredFree parking is available\n \n Requirements\n
Active NC or compact RN licenseBLS and ACLS certifications requiredMinimum 2 years of PCU RN experienceMust have completed at least one 13-week travel assignmentRequired proficiency in EPIC EMR documentationAdvanced cardiac skills including rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV / CVL / midline management, chest tube and drain / tube management, and arrhythmia interventionExperience with TR bands is required and experience with femoral sheaths is preferredAbility to manage cardiac medication drips, blood products, and IV fluidsPermanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility\n Benefits\n
