Veterinary Technician / Assistant

Peachtree Hills is currently seeking a Veterinary Technician or Assistant. We aren't your average Veterinary Hospital, we aim to create a real community within our clinic - among staff, clients, and patients. We want someone who cares not just about animals but about their owners, too.

We are a 13-doctor practice located in Buckhead providing preventative, urgent, and emergency care.  At Peachtree Hills, we strive to create a mixture of hard work, fun, teamwork, and a quality of life.

Responsibilities :

Restraint - restrain patients for exams, obtaining samples, ultrasound, radiology, etc.

Obtain samples - blood, urine, and other samples for laboratory tests

Laboratory procedures - in-house blood chemistry and hematology, complete urinalysis, cytology of skin and ears, snap tests, as well as processing and submitting samples to an outside lab

Patient care - hospitalized and critically ill patients : monitoring vital signs, administering medications and / or fluids, etc

Set up and perform radiographs

Client education - nutrition, pet care, vaccine protocols, preventatives, etc.

Support veterinarians to ensure exceptional veterinary care during preventative, injury and illness visits

Advocate for patients

Assist with setting up patient procedures, and surgical instrument and equipment care.

Obtain health history from clients and ensure documentation is accurate and complete within the electronic medical records

Willingness to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members

Constantly advance your knowledgebase and skill set

Schedule :

Three to Four – 10-hour shifts; Monday – Friday

A consistent schedule with a dedicated day off during the week

No boarding or grooming

Requirements :

Experience in the veterinary field

Passion for helping pets and their owners
