Job Title : Maintenance Apprentice
Pay Rate : $18-20 / hr.
Shift : 1st (7am-9am) and 2nd (2PM- 3PM) (must be available for shift coverage)

Job Summary
The Maintenance Apprentice supports the Lead Mechanic in performing preventive and corrective maintenance across facility systems and production-related utilities. This role is ideal for individuals looking to develop hands-on mechanical, electrical, and facilities maintenance skills in a regulated manufacturing environment while adhering to safety, quality, and food-safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in performing preventive and corrective maintenance on facility systems and equipment.
- Support the diagnosis of mechanical, electrical, and structural issues and assist with timely repairs.
- Aid in the maintenance and monitoring of production-related utilities and facility systems.
- Monitor facility performance and respond to utility alarms or equipment malfunctions as directed.
- Assist with general building upkeep, including lighting, doors, flooring, safety equipment, and infrastructure repairs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance work areas in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and food-safety regulations, including OSHA, GMP, and HACCP guidelines.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and equipment documentation.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with the installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment or facility upgrades.
- Recommend opportunities for improving equipment reliability, energy efficiency, and asset life cycles.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to minimize downtime and support efficient operations.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school coursework preferred.Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or facilities maintenance concepts is a plus.Willingness to learn and follow detailed instructions.Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to [X] lbs as required.Comfortable working in an industrial or manufacturing environment.Work Environment
