Position Summary

The phlebotomist performs specimen collection including venous, capillary, and arterial puncture as well as the collection / handling of other bodily fluids such as urine, stool, sputum, nasopharyngeal, and other various swabs. The phlebotomist must handle high-pressure situations in a calm manner. The phlebotomist is responsible for accurate specimen labeling, ensuring that orders are correct, and ensuring specimens are of the highest quality by following all laboratory procedures and policies. The phlebotomist provides outstanding customer service in a compassionate manner to patients, visitors, providers, coworkers, and other hospital staff.
