[job_card.job_description]Provide one-on-one nursing support in the home or community Interact with the child and participate in fun activities Complete electronic documentation and paper MARS Possible skills used : medication administration g-tube nutrition seizure management trach cares etc. Current valid license as a R N or LPN in Iowa . Valid drivers license with two or fewer violations in the past three years Active BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Ability to lift up to 35 lbs be mobile within the clinic areas and frequently bend lift reach and stand. Ability to communicate effectively in (or through) reading writing and speaking the English language. Child Serve partners with families to help children with special healthcare needs live a great life. Child Serve is a leading pediatric healthcare provider with Iowas only childrens specialty hospital offering a variety of services and programs to meet each childs unique needs. Child Serve s four key specialty areas include : complex medical care pediatric rehabilitation autism and behavioral health and community-based services. With a coordinated approach to care delivery services are interwoven and streamlined so families can address their childs needs in one location. Established in 1928 Child Serve proudly provides more than 30 pediatric specialty services to nearly 6000 children in Iowa each year.
Description
The role of a Respite Nurse is to offer one-on-one time between a child and licensed nurse within the familys home or community. Respite care is designed to give families a break from the day-to-day care involved in raising a child with special healthcare needs. Child Serves respite service allows parents to attend events for their other children schedule appointments for themselves or simply take time to recharge.
Schedule
- Primarily afternoons evenings and weekends. Can be regularly scheduled or as needed.
- Located in Ames Nevada or Slater
