Position Overview :
We are seeking a Paint and Prep Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for surface preparation and industrial painting of components, fabricated structures and repaired equipment. The ideal candidate is detai oriented, safety conscious and takes pride in producing a clean, professional finnish on every project.
Key Responsibilities :
Prepare metal surfaces for painting using hand tools, grinders, sanders and cleaning agents
- Mask and protect surfaces as required
- Mix and apply industrial primers and topcoats using spray equipment
- Ensure proper drying, curing and coating thickness
- Follow all safety guidelings including proper PPE use and ventilation
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Assist with material handling and other shop tasks as needed
- Collaborate with welders, machinists and supervisors to meet project deadlines
