The AI Procurement Engineer will support the electrical engineering team by identifying, evaluating, and recommending materials, components, and vendors for project requirements. While not responsible for actual procurement, this role ensures technical compatibility, cost efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. The engineer will collaborate with internal teams and procurement specialists to optimize sourcing strategies.

Requirements :

• Assist Electrical Design Team with assembly drawings creations for complete equipment schedule to reduce processing time for equipment take offs with Esticom.
• Coordinate with Procurement for regular updates to Procore cost catalog and assemblies.
• Assist in optimizing and standardizing electrical component selection to balance cost, performance, and availability.
• Review Esticom take offs and generate a complete BOM and BOQ for a project.
• Identify and evaluate suppliers based on technical compliance, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Review vendor technical documentation, material specifications, and certifications.
• Explore and implement AI-powered tools for process improvement, automation, and standardization.
• Ensure selected components and materials align with engineering design and project needs.
• Assist Engineering and Procurement teams by providing technical justifications for supplier selection.
• Collaborate with the Value Engineering team to identify cost-saving opportunities in sourcing.
• Recommend alternative materials or vendors that meet or exceed project specifications.
• Ensure that procured components meet industry standards, project specifications, and safety regulations.
• Conduct technical assessments of materials for long-term reliability and compatibility.
• Work with relevant teams to resolve supplier-related technical issues.
• Act as a liaison between Engineering, Procurement, and Suppliers to streamline technical approvals.
• Provide detailed technical reports, supplier evaluations, and recommendations to the Electrical Engineering Manager.
• Support the team in resolving supply chain constraints that impact design and execution.
• Collaborate and coordinate with project development, procurement, project management, construction, and O&M teams.
• Performs research and develops recommendations on equipment and materials selection.
• Maintain a culture of continuous improvement and problem solving.
• Have a high degree of familiarity with the National Electric Code regarding PV Solar Systems.
