The Pleasant Hill School District is currently seeking qualified applicants

for the 2026-2027 school year

for the position of:

First Grade Teacher - Primary School

Qualifications: Must have a degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education and appropriate Missouri Teacher Certification

The successful candidate will:

• promote academic language to enhance student understanding.
• proactively plan for student engagement in instruction.
• plan for and facilitate student critical thinking.
• have knowledge of Readers'/Writers' Workshop.
• demonstrate a solid understanding of effective math and reading instruction.
• have knowledge of the current shifts in education standards and practices.
• use formative assessments and data to plan and drive instruction.
• be a proactive communicator with parents.
• successfully collaborate with colleagues.
• demonstrate effective classroom management strategies.
• understand and support Schoolwide Positive Behavior Support (SW-PBS).
• demonstrate a solid understanding of RtI (Response to Intervention)

Length of contract - 179 Days
