General Overview
The Technical Program Management Engineer is a vital role focused on overseeing multiple complex projects in the Aerospace and Defense (A&D) sector. This position involves leading cross-functional teams, managing intricate project timelines, and ensuring successful project outcomes that align with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage two or more medium to high complexity projects within the A&D market segment, including kickoff, scheduling, and facilitating effective meetings.
- Communicate project status to business leaders and customers, reviewing and interpreting pertinent documents.
- Implement necessary changes within the product lifecycle and recommend process improvements.
- Develop and monitor program plans, including the work breakdown structure and resource allocation.
- Oversee daily management of projects, serving as the primary point of contact for project organization and timelines.
- Drive your core team to achieve program objectives in terms of cost, quality, schedule, features, and customer needs.
- Establish program governance controls and manage program budgets.
- Identify and address risks and issues, taking corrective actions as needed.
- Provide leadership and technical guidance to propel projects forward, especially during challenges.
- Coordinate interdependencies among projects and optimize resource utilization.
- Engage and collaborate effectively with customers and Celestica teams across various locations.
- Align deliverables with program outcomes with support from the business change manager.
- Maintain key program documentation, including the Program Initiation document.
Knowledge / Skills / Competencies
Experience with project management tools and methodologies, including effective risk and change management practices.Preferred knowledge of A&D market technologies.Strong leadership and communication skills, able to engage stakeholders at all levels.Ability to establish a broad network quickly and maintain a positive, collaborative attitude.Physical Demands
This role predominantly involves work in a standard office setting.Responsibilities may require prolonged periods of sitting and visual focus on computer screens.Frequent data entry and other manual tasks will be involved.Some travel may be necessary (up to 25%).Typical Experience
A minimum of 5 years leading product development or manufacturing projects.Preference will be given to candidates with a background in technical or highly regulated industries such as A&D or Healthtech.Typical Education
A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering is required. PMP certification is an advantage.
Salary Range
The salary range for this position is approximately $107,000 to $147,000 annually, subject to change based on various factors including responsibilities and candidate qualifications.
