The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting in examination and treatment of patients under direction of the Physician. Core Responsibilities include : demonstrating effective verbal and written communication, making each customer feel informed, understood, and special, being an effective team player, facing tasks and challenges with energy and passion, pursuing activities with focus and drive, and adhering to standards of business conduct and compliance. Major Responsibilities involve interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, preparing treatment rooms, handing instruments and materials to the doctor, cleaning and sterilizing instruments, giving injections or treatments, and performing routine laboratory tests. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications include Medical Assistant experience, CPT I certification, experience performing EKGs, blood draws, vital signs, and IM injections, ability to work well under pressure, neat and professional appearance, effective written and verbal communication skills, and vocational certificate in Medical Assistant. Working Conditions are center-based in a clinical setting with moderate noise level and potential for exposure to infectious diseases and blood-borne pathogens. Requires standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and lifting 50 lbs.
