  • Evaluate and implement fit-for-purpose automated RNA extraction methods to improve consistency and performance of gene expression assays.
  • In support of program priorities, perform non-GLP sample analysis for emerging and established tissues to support all of Alnylam's RNAi therapeutic development from early to late stages.
  • Design, troubleshoot and interpret experiments.
  • Help implement and maintain appropriate procedures and controls to ensure consistent assay performance and reproducible data.
  • Maintain meticulous laboratory notebooks, perform data analysis and QC, and communicate results to matrixed teams to support program advancement.
  • Collaborate with team members to expand capabilities and improve workflows for molecular analysis and data reporting.

Qualifications

  • A Master's degree (6+ years of relevant industry experience) or Bachelor's degree (8+ years of relevant industry experience) in molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or relevant field.
  • Excellent lab technique and previous experience to perform PCR-based molecular assays, and ability to work independently.
  • Has experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other analytical software (e.g. GraphPad Prism, QuantStudio).
  • Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to thrive in a team environment and be comfortable working on and prioritizing multiple projects.
  • Has strong interpersonal skills to enable collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.
