Radiology Tech

Overview

Performs Diagnostic Radiographic Procedures according to department protocols, TJC / CMS, State and Federal Regulations. Functions as the first line interface with customers and is successful in the accomplishment of their imaging needs. Responsible for processing and transmission of images to PACS. Performs a variety of Radiographic procedures and / or invasive procedures and is responsible for patient safety protocols. Under minimal supervision, performs X-ray / invasive procedures, as requested by a licensed physician. Exercises professional judgment in providing healthcare services, applying all aspects and principles of Radiation Protection to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups from adolescent to elderly. May perform other tasks as assigned. May perform related duties such as transporting patients. Employee may be required to work extended hours or other variations of the usual shift to ensure adequate care of patients and maintain service to the community. May rotate call as needed.

Functions as the first line interface with customers and is successful in the accomplishment of their imaging needs. Participates in PI / QC activities. Responsible for processing and transmission of images to PACS.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Licensure and fluoroscopy permit as required by State.

2. ARRT-R is required.

3. Must be familiar with State and Federal regulations.

4. Current BCLS (AHA).

5. At least one year of experience as a Radiology Technologist preferred.

6. Proficient computer skills.
