Position Summary
LiquidStack is a rapidly scaling technology company delivering advanced liquid cooling solutions for high-performance data centers and AI infrastructure. We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on Field Service Engineer with a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering background and direct experience in HVAC and / or Data Center environments. This role is ideal for experienced engineers who are eager to learn, thrive in fast-moving environments, and take ownership of complex technical challenges in the field. The Field Service Engineer is responsible for on-site installation, troubleshooting, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and customer training—ensuring maximum uptime, safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide on-site service and remote technical support during field visits and dispatches
- Perform equipment installation, commissioning, startup, maintenance, and repair activities
- Diagnose system failures and conduct root-cause analysis
- Replace, repair, and test mechanical, electrical, and thermal components
- Produce accurate and timely service reports documenting work performed and findings
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
- Train customers on system functionality, operation, and maintenance
- Collaborate with internal teams as needed
- Adapt to evolving products, documentation, and processes in a fast-scaling startup environment
Required Education and Background
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering – Required.3–8+ years of hands-on experience in one or more of the following : HVAC, Data Centers, Mission-Critical Facilities, Critical Power & Thermal Systems, or related environments.Required Technical Skills
Strong electrical, mechanical, and thermal troubleshooting capabilityExperience with installation, commissioning, preventive and corrective maintenanceRoot-cause failure analysisAbility to read wiring diagrams and mechanical drawingsComfortable working in live data center and customer production environmentsStrong documentation and communication skillsWillingness to travel 50%+ domestically and internationallyStartup & Culture Fit Expectations
