Job Summary and Responsibilities
The Wireless Network Performance Technician plays a vital role in ensuring top-notch wireless network performance by conducting mobile and stationary RF tests. This dynamic position is essential for supporting engineering teams through the collection of critical field data aimed at improving coverage, capacity, and service quality, especially for advanced 5G technologies. Please be aware that this role involves extensive travel.
This position will support various projects across multiple states, including MN, VT, NE, MA, RI, CT, NY, NJ, PA, DE, MD, DC, and VA.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Additional tasks may be assigned:
- Perform drive testing with specialized equipment such as TEMS Pocket, X-CAL, and QXDM to collect comprehensive RF data along specified routes.
- Execute speed tests to assess and ensure optimal network performance.
- Capture and upload operational logs including RSRP, SINR, PCI, and throughput data to centralized servers for in-depth analysis.
- Follow proper naming conventions to maintain organized test files.
- Communicate effectively with Circet and client contacts throughout various projects and escalate any issues as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications are an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of wireless technologies such as LTE, VoLTE, CDMA, 5G, MIMO, and Carrier Aggregation is highly preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in RF testing or roles as a field technician is desired.
- Experience with DAS, small cells, or CRAN installations will be beneficial.
- Essential computer skills are a must.
- A valid U.S. driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime, is necessary.
