Position Overview
Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit frontier targets in RAS-addicted cancers. The company’s R&D pipeline comprises RAS(ON) Inhibitors designed to suppress diverse oncogenic variants of RAS proteins, and RAS Companion Inhibitors for use in combination treatment strategies. The Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Director of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), the Director of EHS leads the strategic integration and execution of EHS programs across all sites and functions, driving a culture of safety, sustainability, and operational excellence. This role partners with senior leadership to shape long-term EHS strategy, governance, and readiness initiatives in alignment with corporate growth and commercialization goals.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and implementation of company-wide EHS governance, programs, and performance systems across global operations.
Partner with senior leadership to establish and maintain risk management, compliance, and sustainability strategies that drive long-term organizational impact.
Drive initiatives that embed safety and environmental compliance into daily operations, fostering a proactive, prevention-first mindset at all levels of the organization.
Lead investigations for all incidents and accidents on site and ensure the timely completion of corrective actions. Oversee and update the incident reporting and investigation system based on effective cause / effect analysis, involving and empowering front‑line employees to change the culture from reactive to preventive and ultimately predictive.
Participate and lead in cross-functional safety committees and sustainability initiatives.
Manage multiple EHS-related consultants and service vendors.
Collaborate with the Sr. Director of EHS to manage staff, including hiring, scheduling, and assigning work, reviewing performance, and recommending salary increases, promotions, transfers, demotions, or terminations.
Oversee Facilities Safety Program Management in support of facilities operations, including but not limited to electrical safety, lockout / tagout, fall protection, confined space, heat illness prevention, hot work, incident investigation, training programs, water intrusion and emergency response, hazardous materials and waste, etc.
Assist the Sr. Director of EHS in developing and implementing departmental strategic plans and identifying areas in need of improvement.
Required Skills, Experience and Education
BS / BA degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related discipline and at least a few years of related experience; or
MA / MS degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related discipline and at least 10 years of related experience; or
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
A minimum of 8 years of experience leading EHS programs in highly regulated biotechnology or pharmaceutical environments.
Supervisory experience.
Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, Cal / OSHA, and other applicable regulations and standards.
Ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative and professional relationships while actively promoting a culture of safety.
Ability to make sound judgments and respond to emergency situations in a calm manner.
Ability to proactively engage with stakeholders to understand and anticipate change, address concerns and provide solutions.
Ability to promote EHS initiatives with enthusiasm and using excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to self‑initiate activities and work within timelines.
Ability to communicate effectively with members throughout the organization including executive leadership on EHS strategy, performance metrics and risk mitigation.
Must be flexible and adaptable to changing organizational needs.
Preferred Skills
Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
Base pay salary range : $204,000 – $255,000 per year. Competitive cash compensation, robust equity awards, strong benefits, and significant learning and development opportunities are also part of the overall total rewards program.
