Located in Baton Rouge, LA

Salary : $18-$21 / hr BOE

Express Employment Professionals of Baton Rouge is seeking a Document Controller to support a steel fabrication company at their corporate headquarters. This role requires exceptional accuracy, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage a high volume of documentation while maintaining quality, integrity, and compliance with company procedures.

Location : Baton Rouge, LA

Schedule : Full‑Time | Monday-Friday | 40 hrs / week | Temp‑to‑Perm

Pay : $18-$21 / hr BOE

Primary Duties

  • Manage, store, and track company documents with a high level of accuracy and quality control.
  • Ensure all documents meet company standards for integrity, organization, and retention.
  • Scan, image, organize, and maintain documents according to the company's document lifecycle procedures.
  • Archive inactive records in alignment with the records retention schedule.
  • Receive and process Requests for Information (RFIs) from employees or clients; maintain tracking logs for all requests.
  • Safeguard sensitive information and support adherence to record retention policies.
  • Retrieve data and documentation efficiently to support internal teams.
  • Perform administrative tasks as needed to support daily operations.
  • Work effectively in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in document control within a fabrication shop or engineering firm preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • JD Edwards experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Xenon weld logging, NDE Selection, and Report Entry software is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in document handling.
  • Reliable, organized, and able to manage workload efficiently.
