JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary :

The Certified Medical Assistant primarily provides clinical and administrative support to our OB / GYN physicians and other clinical staff. This position requires strong communication and organizational skills and being able to be empathetic towards patients while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Essential Functions :

• Responsible for verifying patient information by interviewing patients, recording medical history, and confirming the purpose of the visit.
• Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; reporting patient history summary.
• Responsible for collecting and preparing laboratory specimens, giving patients injections, and drawing blood.
• Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding electronic and paper medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; keeping patient information confidential.
• Informs patients by transmitting physician orders and questions about surgery.
• Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
• Assist with sterilizing equipment / maintain proper working knowledge of the Autoclave.
