Required Skills

1. Core Functional Testing Skills

Strong experience in end-to-end functional testing, system testing, integration testing, and regression testing.

Ability to create detailed test plans, test strategies, and test scenarios independently.

Experience in requirement analysis, identifying test conditions, and driving defect triage.

Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC, including Agile / Scrum ceremonies.

Ability to manage testing independently with minimal oversight.

2. Leadership & Ownership

Experience leading small-to-medium QA teams, mentoring junior testers.

Ability to coordinate with Dev, BA, Product, and Release teams to ensure smooth delivery.

Excellent communication and status reporting to stakeholders.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to own testing for a module / project end-to-end.

3. Automation Testing Skills

Hands-on experience in Automation Frameworks (Hybrid, Page Object Model, Data-Driven).

Strong skills in one or more scripting languages : Java / Python / JavaScript.

Experience in designing, maintaining, and optimizing automation test suites.

4. Appium & Mobile Testing

Strong hands-on experience in Appium for Android and / or iOS.

Experience writing automation scripts for mobile native, hybrid, or web apps.

Understanding of mobile debugging tools, ADB commands, XCode, simulators / emulators, etc.

Knowledge of mobile-specific issues like performance, network conditions, device compatibility.

5. Tools & Technologies

Experience with CI / CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).

Version control tools : Git / GitHub / GitLab.

Test management tools : JIRA, Zephyr, qTest, ALM, etc.

Knowledge of API testing using Postman / RestAssured (nice to have).

Cloud-based device farms (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs) nice to have.

6. Soft Skills

Strong verbal and written communication.

Ability to drive discussions with stakeholders confidently.

Prioritization, planning, risk identification, and mitigation.
