Production Manager
Oversee the order to delivery manufacturing process to ensure customer, quality and profitability and employee commitments are consistently met.
A Day In The Life
- Communicate with other functional / departmental manager to understand all necessary aspect of operational development.
- Responsible for assisting in continuous improvement (safety, quality, on-time delivery, productivity and training).
- Maintains heightened awareness of the project schedule for each project as it moves through the value stream in order to meet key project deadlines.
- Assist in the design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
- Confers with sales to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts.
- Conduct weekly allocation meetings and work with applicable Operations Management to resolve issues.
- Conduct performance reviews and disciplinary action (when needed) following company policy.
- Establish Standard Work throughout each Value Stream.
- Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a wide array of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- The primary measurements of the function are production efficiencies and delivery performance; other critical measurements are average production lead-time, inventory accuracy, fill rates and controlling labor costs.
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a wide array of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Work closely with Operations Manager on long term capital investment opportunities to increase efficiencies and overall output.
What will help you thrive in this role?
Individual must have exceptional communication skills and 3 to 5 years experience of production management with a strong background in forecasting and inventory analysis.
BS in Engineering / Industrial Engineering Field, MBA or equivalent business degree is a plus.Strong background with introduction of new products into manufacturing, proven experience with Lean techniques, value stream mapping, etc.Has management experience in either an engineering or manufacturing engineering environmentMinimum two (3) years scheduling and inventory control experience in manufacturing environment.Course work in related field(s) of studies a plus.Fully Bilingual English and Spanish (Preferred)Computer proficiency a must.
