Responsibilities

Postdoctoral Position in molecular neurobiology with emphasis on computation and OMICS.Doctoral degree in natural sciences and at least four years of experience working in a basic science laboratory. Skills preferred include a strong working knowledge of computational neuroscience and big data (OMICS) experience. A strong background in molecular biology including cloning gene expression / PCR cell culture AAV production and design experience with creating and handling viral vectors are highly desired. Data generation and handling data interpretation writing up laboratory procedures and results good command of written and spoken English is required.Job Summary : This postdoctoral fellow position will coordinate several projects aimed at using high-throughput approaches combining big data computational approaches and in vivo / vitro assays to study neurodegenerative disease and CNS therapy. Studies including evaluating lead gene therapy candidates using protein modeling and assessing these in vivo. The fellow will participate in the day-to-day operations of the research lab; duties will include collaborative experimental design conducting experimental laboratory work analyzing and writing up results for publication in peer-reviewed journals. In addition opportunities to learn about current laboratory operations including pre-clinical model techniques post-mortem analyses of tissue sample preparation; tissue sectioning immunohistochemistry etc.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS : Research experience leading to Doctoral degree. ., ., . in clinical neuropsychology or clinical psychology from an APA approved program Required. Ability to conceive new / innovative ideas or solutions with good logic and problem solving skills; ability to communicate, write, advise and counsel on extremely complex and technical matters.Desired Education / Experience / Skills : . Experience with pre-clinical models techniques- working knowledge of levodopa-induced dyskinesia are a plus. Knowledge of brain anatomy enteric nervous system function and general histology protocols such as tissue sectioning immunohistochemistry and microscopy specifically in fluorescence immunolabeling are highly desired.
