TravelNurseSource is working with Mindlance Health to find a qualified ICU / Critical Care RN in Omaha, Nebraska, 68101!

ID : 74353829 Shift : 12H Days 12 hr days Description : Unit Rule : 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and / or Dignity.

• Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.
• Fingernail policy : Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care- refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of contract
• RN's - Pass / Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated
• Department : Med Surg ICU RN
• Certifications Required : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• # of Beds : 34- Ratios : 1 : 1-2 ICU, PCU 1 : 4-5 and MS 1 : 5-6- Common diagnoses / Types of patients : Adults and Peds >

15 years old, Neuro surgery (initiating neuro interventionalist with thrombectomy program) - not required exp., Respiratory failure, ARDS, MODS, sepsis, stroke, cardiogenic shock (impella, balloon pump - not required exp.), renal failure (CRRT) - not required exp., general surgery, psych / OD, GI bleeds, cancer specific surgeries - esophagectomy, internal chemo administration, CVPs, Alines, Swans, EV-1000, ICP monitoring- all can train real time, Zoll -Thermoguard for hypothermia protocol, Bell Mont rapid transfuser- Are RNs required to titrate drips? : Yes- Common titratable & / or set rate drips : Vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, antiarrhythmics- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? : Yes- will attend RRTs and Codes- Are there nurse aids / patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties? : Yes- 1 : 18- RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot? : Nasal cannula to vents- Are there Tele / Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? : No techs- Draeger heart monitoring with centralized telemetry monitoring. RNs need to be able to read and interpret.- Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) : 0630-1830, 1830-0630 / / manager will make schedule based on unit needs- Weekend Requirements : Every other- Holiday Requirements : Every other or as needed for based on unit needs- Floating Requirements : Will float to all inpatient units, excluding Maternity / NICU- Scrub Color / Dress Code : Navy Blue- How many shifts of unit / department specific orientation? : 2 shifts- Additional Notes : Fast paced unit with volume flexes due to being primary tertiary hospital for the system. Attributes that will make a nurse successful on this unit are the ability ask questions, a positive attitude, willingness to help others, critical thinking skills, personable, and positive attitude. Have a team environment meant to foster high quality care and work with attendings and student providers (fellows, residents) to collaborate on care.Radius Rule : 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and / or Dignity.RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.Entered On : 12 / 12 / 2023 Cancellation can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, 3 shifts for assignments that are less than 13 weeks. Charting BSN Required : License to Trauma Level : 1 Care Shift Notes : 12 hr days Required , BLS, NIHSS Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Contract Weeks : 91
