JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary

Department: Nurse Staffing

Shift timings: 19:00 - 07:30 Monday to Friday 3days/12 hours

Per Week: 36 Hours

Summary

Department: Med Surg

Shift timing: 18:45-07:15 Hours Monday to Friday (3 Days/12 Hours)

Per Week: 36 Hours.

Unit Capacity: 34 Beds

Population Served: Adult and geriatric medical/surgical patients.

Ages of Patients Served: Young Adult through Late Adult (18 - 60+)

Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:6

Core Staffing Plan: Variable staffing grid to include: Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), Nurse Interns (NIs).

An RN assumes full responsibility for the patients on each team.

Staffing Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Successful completion of a rhythm test

Roles & Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

QUALIFICATIONS

• BLS and ACLS
• National Institutes of Health (NIH)
• Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
• The ability to stand for extended periods.
• Strong technical skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Passionate about patient care
• Requires a minimum of two years of current RN Med/Surg experience.
• Graduate from a fully accredited RN program
• Active unencumbered Tennessee RN state license
• One year of Cerner experience

Requirements
• COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.
