Responsibilities The Occupational Therapist 2 responsibilities include identification of signs and symptoms that signal appropriateness for OT examination and also the actual examination, evaluation, planning, organizing, and implementing specific treatment programs for individual patients. Participates in case conferences and discharge planning. Develops and implements developmentally and culturally appropriate education to meet needs of patient and family. Communicates effectively with other patient care team members and coordinates care provided. Supervises OT Assistants and rehab therapy aides. Coordinates/supervises student clinical educational experience. Work in an environment that involves critical care intervention and requires seven-day-a-week coverage.
Therapist Level II, III, or IV determination is based on essential behaviors, scope of clinical expertise, professional experience, advanced certifications or specialty practice, leadership activities, and contributions to education, research, or quality initiatives.
Qualifications Education
• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy required
• Master's Degree preferred
• Doctoral Degree preferred
Experience
• 2 years of experience preferred
Licenses and Certifications
• OT - State of California Occupational Therapist License required
• BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required
