Essential Job Functions
GENERAL
•Interprets, supports and models behaviors consistentwith the mission and philosophy of Billings Clinic and department/service. Responsible for promotion of, and adherence to, the elements of Billings Clinic’s Code of Business Conduct and corporate compliance program.
•Laboratory Director Responsibilities
•Presents summary findings on annual basis to CEO/facility leadership.
•Review and approve laboratory policies and procedures
•Attends on site accreditation survey/inspection.
•Approves instrumentation requests and changes to methodology.
Laboratory Technical Supervisor / Consultant Responsibilities
•Works to maintain and strengthen existing relationships.
•Responsible to evaluate day-to-day operational/technical activities of lab management to accomplish the goals and objectives as defined for laboratory services.
•Develops and makes recommendations for policies and procedures to ensure the laboratory operates effectively and efficiently and complies with all applicable regulatory requirements.
•Ensure completion of training and competency documentation as required by accreditation standards.
•Conducts site reviews and/or visits, in coordination with the pathologists for sites where Billings Clinic provides laboratory directorships or medical directorships. Submits written documentation of site visit.
•Works collaboratively with Pathologists and laboratory operations staff to resolve problems, issues or concerns at sites where Billings Clinic provides laboratory directorships or medical directorships.
•Assists with preparation for regulatory inspections at sites where Billings Clinic provides laboratory directorships or medical directorships.

•Maintains knowledge and understanding of current trends and developments relating to regulatory requirements for laboratory services.
•Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency safety standards relevant to job performance.
•Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
•4 Year / Bachelors Degree - Bachelor’s in clinical laboratory science, medical technology or chemical, physical or biological science
Experience
•2 years supervisory experience in a laboratory in non-waived testing
•4 years laboratory training/experience
Certifications and Licenses
•ASCP certification (or equivalent) as a Medical Technologist
•4 years laboratory training/experience
•Montana State license as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist or eligible for Montana State licensure as a •Medical Technologist at hire
Other Minimum Qualifications
• Preferred experience in both rural and urban facilities
• Meet qualifications as Technical Consultant, Technical Supervisor, and Laboratory Director as defined in Federal Register 42 CFR Part 493 CLIA 1998
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience relating to the above tasks, knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered
Employees that require a licensed or certification must be properly licensed/certified and the licensure/certification must be in good standing.
