Responsibilities
Follow established standards of nursing practices and implementcommunity programs policies and proceduresObtainreport from nurse being relieved and provide report to nurse coming on duty;record sufficient information to implement appropriate follow-up action as necessary.Conduct resident rounds daily reporting problems to supervisor and initiating corrective actionIdentify safety hazards and initiate corrective action immediatelyIdentify resident problems and emergency situationsand initiate emergency care per physicians orders in the absence of a physicianProvide supervision todirect careassociatesproviding direct resident careAttend staff meetingsin-service classes and committee meetings as assignedReview the Glucometer Control Log prior to testing for blood sugar levelsFollow staffing guidelines and make nursing assignments according to qualifications of staff and characteristics of the resident populationComply with community processes related to painassessment / management / documentation providing treatments and delivering medicationsCompetently perform basic nursing skills as per your licensureFollow Community discharge / transfer procedure / documentation and coordinate discharge / transfer with other departments physicians and ancillary service providersSupervise response to residents call for assistanceListen to resident family or physician concerns and initiate corrective action and / or report concerns to Nursing Supervisor.Count narcotics check emergency kit and exchange keys each shiftQualifications
