Certified Surgical Tech (CST)

Lincoln Medical Center is seeking a experienced Certified Surgical Tech (CST) to join our Surgery department in a full-time position. Central Sterile Processing experience is preferred.

The basic purpose of this position is to perform technical skills and provide assistance to surgeons, anesthesia personnel, Registered Nurses, and other professionals in the operating room.

• Essential Functions :
• Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy related to procedure.
• Demonstrate knowledge of techniques used by various surgeons for various procedures.
• Ensure all necessary equipment is in the room prior to the start of a case.
• Handle instrument trays in a safe manner during and after surgical procedures to ensure safety and prevent loss of instruments.
• Contribute positively in a team manner during busier days to ensure the flow of the schedule is at optimum level as observed by nurse manager.
• Report any malfunction and missing instruments as soon as possible, includes passing on changes to physician preferences timely.
• Able to safely operate all electrosurgical equipment, diagnostic equipment, microscopic laser equipment, video equipment, and disposable equipment, as well as equipment unique to each specialty area. xxajxew
• Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of asepsis and consistently maintain sterile technique.

• Monday - Friday
• Day shift
• After hours and weekend on-call rotation
• Certified Surgical Tech (CST) Qualifications and Skills :
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician training required
• Certification in central sterile processing a plus
