About The Position

ID : 74019550 Shift : 12 hour nights; 7 Description : Job bed, Level II Trauma, Teaching Hospital.  The only Trauma Center in Monterey County, as well as many other surrounding communities.Voted Best Hospital in Salinas Valley (out of 3 hospitals) by Salinas Valley Reader s Choice - 2022Submittal candidate have current or prior discipline on their professional license or certification? If yes, please provide explanation.Has the candidate ever been convicted of a crime other than a minor traffic violation?Does candidate have an active CA RN license?Does the candidate have active BLS and ACLS certifications issued through American Heart Association?Does the candidate have a minimum of 2 years experience working in L&D setting?Does the candidate have an active NRP certification?Does the candidate have an active AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification or equivalent? Must include candidate's education (Including month / year of graduation), & complete work history from the last seven (7) years. All work history should include facility worked at, not the agency name.Skills Checklist Completed within one (1) year of submittal for specialty where candidate is submittedTwo (2) References Two (2) references from work history occurring within the past three (3) years. At least (1) one reference must be from a supervisor.Online verification of professional license or certification Verified within 30 days of submission. Nursys acceptable.Online Verification of Professional License or Certification to practice in the State of California Online verification of professional license completed within thirty (30) days of start and at time of extension. Drug Screens that list marijuana are not accepted. An Affiliate attestation form can be accepted in lieu of drug screen results.BLS for Healthcare Providers Must be issued through American Heart AssociationPhysical Completed within one (1) year of start date; required annually. May be signed by Physician, NP, PA, DO, or DC.MMR Shown by proof of two (2) MMR vaccinations or positive IGG titers. Decline form accepted for low / equivocal titers, Affiliate form acceptable.Varicella Shown by proof of two (2) vaccinations, positive IGG titer, or provider verified history. Decline form accepted for low / equivocal titers, Affiliate form acceptable.Hepatitis B Shown by proof of vaccination series, positive surface antibody titer, or declinationInfluenza For Assignments occurring between 11 / 1-3 / 31. Influenza Vaccine or Flu Shot Declination. If the CP is declining the Influenza Vaccine, they must complete the NMC Influenza Declination Form (attached) and follow masking protocol in patient care areas.Tdap Administered within ten (10) years of start date. Decline form accepted, Affilate form acceptable.TB TB skin test, TB QuantiFeron, or T-Spot completed within one (1) year of start date and annually thereafter. Chest X-Ray within one (1) year of start date for past positive TB case as a result of TB exposure. Past positive documentation, Chest X-Ray, and TB questionnaire required. TB questionnaire required annually.Background Check Completed within thirty (30) days of start date and INCLUDE ALL ALIASES. 1) National Criminal Check; 2) FACIS Level III; 3) National Sex Offender; 4) ALL counties lived and worked within past 7 years; 5) SSN Address TraceOffice of Inspector General (OIG) OIG completed within thirty (30) days of start date, and at time of extension. Must be run for all alias names that appear on the SSN address trace.System for Award Management (SAM) SAM completed within thirty (30) days of start date, and at time of extension. Must be run for all alias names that appear on the SSN address trace.Specialty Competency Exam Completed within one (1) year of start date for the specialty corresponding to the CP s Assignment; required annually. An 80% or passing rate is required.Joint Commission - Core I, II, and III Training Completed within one (1) year of start date; required annually. Passing score of 80% or higher required.Valid state issued Drivers License or ID card State issued photo ID or state issued Driver's License required to be current at time of start. Photo ID must be submitted to clients for identification verification.California (CA) Meal Waiver Form Client form is requiredRN Pyxis Modules RNs need to complete modules for \"Pyxis MedStation ES v1.6 : Essentials Both Profile and Non-Profile modes\" and \"BD Pyxis Med Link Queue & Waste v1.10 for ES v1.6 Standalone Application\" Please upload both certificates of completion together . Screen shots are not accepted.ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (American Heart Association)NRP - Neonatal Resusciation ProgramFHM - Fetal Heart MonitoringDepartment Notes : 8 LDR, 2 Triage (serves as Pre-Op for C-Sections), 2 OR, 2 PACU beds.  NMC tends to see a lot of high risk patients due to a high diabetic population.  Will not perform inductions less than 39 weeks.  Will perform external versions and second trimester cerclages on the day shift only.  NMC follows AWHONN s Standards for Professional Registered Nurse Staffing which is if patient is 6cm or greater dilated - 1 : 1 ratio; Magnesium drip or insulin drip - 1 : 1 ratio; otherwise all other will be 1 : 2 ratio.  If there is a scheduled C-Section, the RN will follow that patient through entire care until sign off.Misc 2 years experience working in L&D settingRequirements : Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of California, BLS and ACLS issued through American Heart Association, NRP, AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification or equivalent. Will work 3-4 (12 hour) weekend shifts on a 28 day schedule.  There is self-scheduling in Women s Services and will be given to the staff first, then travelers.  The Director and leaders will then balance the schedule based on experience and skill set. Charting : Meditech (PCS for L&D; ORM - Surgical).  OBIX for fetal surveillance system.  WOWs are provided to each RN for charting; Medication Administration : Pyxis;  IV Pumps : SolarisScrubs :   Scrubs are provided for travelers working in L&D.  Orientation offered Monday s only.  Will start in Human Resources and complete paperwork and obtain badge, next onto Occupational Health for Respiratory Fit Test and then will meet with Nursing Education to complete appropriate testing for their unit.  All RNs will take a medication test the first day.  After testing, will go to the unit to finish their shift with a Clinical Preceptor.  L&D will be provided 3-4 shifts of orientation on the unit prior to being assigned patients. Guaranteed Hours : 36 Contract Weeks : 88
