Summary : The Engineering Co-Op will support multiple engineering functions within FQT’s technology platforms. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience across core engineering disciplines, including Process Engineering, Design Engineering, and Project Management, through structured rotational assignments.
The Co-Op will work under the guidance of experienced engineers and project leaders to assist with key deliverables from project conception through detailed design and plant optimization. The rotational program is intended to provide broad exposure to the full project lifecycle while building technical, organizational, and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities :
Process Engineering Rotation
- Work closely with a mentor Process Engineer to develop process engineering deliverables such as : Design Basis, Mass & Energy Balances, Process Flow Diagrams and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams
- Learning, sizing and specifying equipment, piping, instrumentation and valves
- Learning and performing process engineering calculations and process modeling in ChemCad
- Developing an understanding of the FQT Process Engineering Deliverables throughout the FEL process (Front-end Loading)
Design Engineering Rotation
Assist in design and development of piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).Model piping systems using Plant 3D tools, including isometric and orthographic piping drawingsCreate layout drawings with dimensions and annotations, along with modeling tanks, vessels, pumps, exchangers with nozzle orientation.Collaborate with design engineers on engineering drawings and documentationProject Management Rotation
Assist in project scheduling, budgeting, and risk analysisParticipate in stakeholder meetings and contribute to project documentationTrack project progress using project management software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Primavera, Autodesk Construction Cloud-ACC)Support procurement activities and vendor coordinationUtilizing project information provide the project manager analytics for use by the project team and upper management to evaluate the progress of the projectGeneral ResponsibilitiesParticipate in safety reviews and maintain high safety standardsSupport other duties and tasks as assigned by mentors or leadershipQualifications :
