Community Liaison

General Summary:

The general purpose of this position is to implement prevention programs and increasing community capacity, engaging in community development, as well as youth and parent engagement.

Essential Functions:

• Organizes, recruits, Implements, and facilitates evidence-based parent/youth curriculum which includes facilitating with other staff as well as trained officials, site champions and community stakeholders. Provides a safe environment for participants.
• Develops and amends lesson plans to accommodate target populations.

3.Recruits’ community sectors to establish partnerships, plans, and facilitates coalition meetings, and other coalition events including the parent and/or youth leadership components.

4.Organizes community events as well as participates in other health fairs/events in the community.

• Research up-to-date information on prevention and trauma-informed topics and ensures only accurate information is disseminated.

6.Empowers, prepares, and trains community partners/members to move towards sustainability of programming.

• Receives referrals for interventions and other behavioral, mental, physical and social needs from program participants and addresses these referrals in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Research, and creates materials, presentations, and trainings to promote prevention and trauma-informed efforts, increase awareness of topics, and educate the community.

9.Provide referrals and resources to parents and youth. Updates resource lists to ensure youth friendliness, validity, and practicality to the community.

10.Helps to construct, collect, distribute, and complete all community needs assessments including gathering statistics, completing focus groups, distributing surveys, interviewing and other such methods.

11.Completes all necessary documentation and reports for the program, agency, and coalition.

12.All other duties as assigned.
