Viridian is a craft cocktail bar and restaurant located in Uptown Oakland offering contemporary dishes inspired by Asian American nostalgia. Our award-winning establishment has received recognition from Forbes, Esquire, SF Chronicle, and more. We are looking for an evening cook to join our passionate and hospitality-driven team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum one year experience in quality-driven, high-volume restaurants
  • Ability to take direction well
  • Professional demeanor under pressure
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Good technique and ability to multitask
  • Basic knife skills
  • Food safety knowledge

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute food items stations
  • Know and consistently adhere to standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, as well as company policies and procedures
  • Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to ensure a smooth service
  • Maintain clean and sanitary workstation areas before, during, and after service
  • Follow proper plate presentation and garnish setup for all dishes
  • Assist kitchen leadership team in all aspects relating to the preparation and execution of service
  • Knowledgeable in all areas of the kitchen and able to fill in where needed
  • Understanding of classic and modern cooking methods and techniques
  • Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served
