Controls Engineer Whitehall MI

Salary Range : $83000 - $128000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Design develop and implement industrial control systems (PLC HMI SCADA).
  • Program and configure Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
  • Troubleshoot diagnose and resolve complex electrical and control system issues.
  • Develop and maintain accurate control system documentation including schematics and logic.
  • Support commissioning startup and optimization of new and existing manufacturing equipment.
  • Collaborate with production maintenance and engineering teams to improve system performance and reliability.
  • Ensure all control systems comply with safety standards industry regulations and company policies.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g. Rockwell Siemens) and HMI / SCADA development.
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g. Ethernet / IP Profinet Modbus TCP / IP).
  • Strong troubleshooting diagnostic and commissioning skills for automated machinery.
  • Knowledge of industrial robotics (e.g. Fanuc KUKA ABB) and servo / motion control systems.
  • Ability to read interpret and develop electrical schematics and control panel layouts.
  • Familiarity with functional safety standards (e.g. ISO 13849 IEC 62061) and safety circuit design.

    • Bonus Qualifications

  • Robotics programming and integration experience (e.g. FANUC KUKA ABB)
  • Experience with industrial vision systems (e.g. Cognex Keyence)
  • Proficiency with SQL databases for data collection reporting and MES integration
  • Familiarity with ISA-88 batch control or ISA-95 enterprise-control system integration standards
