Duties of Safety and Security Officer :

The Safety and Security Officer- Weapons Detection Systems is stationed at Sibley Memorial Hospital entrances with the weapons detection system.

• Partners with the Guest Services team to enhance security and to create a patient and family-centered culture
• Responsible for day-to-day operations at our entrances by maintaining a safe environment and utilizing the weapons detection systems
• Provides superior customer service and is trained in de-escalation techniques and conflict management
• work closely with internal security patrols of JHMI buildings to protect against illegal activities, theft, fire, hazardous conditions, infringements, etc. when / where necessary
• Ensures no one enters the hospital with any weapons or other unpermitted objects that would potentially cause a safety issue within our hospital

Salary Range : Minimum 18.57 / hour - Maximum 30.64 / hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
