Project Engineer

Job Description

Gpac is partnering with a confidential pet food manufacturer in Northern Indiana to identify a Project Engineer to support manufacturing process and capital projects within a production facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing projects from concept through completion, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery
• Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and timelines
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Procurement, and Engineering
• Oversee equipment selection, design, installation, and commissioning
• Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and equipment evaluations
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, throughput, and waste reduction
• Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, FDA, environmental, and company standards
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, and as-built records
• Train plant personnel on new equipment and processes
• Support troubleshooting during implementation and post-installation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related discipline
• 2-5 years of manufacturing or industrial project experience
• Strong knowledge of industrial equipment and manufacturing processes
• Experience with project management tools and technical documentation
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment
