Travel Nurse RN - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care - $2,611 per week in Santa Maria, CA

Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : Nursing Specialty : Intensive Care Unit Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12-Hour Days Hours per Shift : 7 : 00 AM - 7 : 00 PM Experience : Minimum of 2 years in ICU License : Required Certifications : ACLS, BLS, COVID Vaccine Required, NIHSS Must-Have : 2 years of experience in the ICU is required. Previous travel experience is preferred. Description : Unit has 20 beds. Certifications required include ACLS, BLS, and NIH. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 to 1-2. Electronic Medical Record system used is Cerner. Charge Nurse does not take a patient assignment. Nurse Aides are not available in the unit. Weekend requirement is every other weekend. Holidays will be incorporated into the permanent staff rotation. Scrub color is navy. Monitor Technicians are Phillips. Nurses are required to read and interpret telemetry strips. Common drips used include norepinephrine, precadex, epinephrine, and vasopressin. Ventilators utilized are Puritan Bennett 840. An Intensivist is on-site 24 / 7. Respiratory Therapy is available 24 / 7. Pharmacy services are available 24 / 7. Self-scheduling is used but not always guaranteed. Floating to other areas may be required. Common diagnoses and types of patients include neuro trauma, cardiac surgical cases, open heart surgeries, post-catheterization, aortic dissections, femoral popliteal procedures, thoracotomies, and CRRT. Must have clinical skills and experience with complex and critical care patients.
