Travel Nurse RN - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care - $2,611 per week in Santa Maria, CA

Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty : ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum 2 years of ICU experience License : Required Certifications : ACLS, BLS, COVID Vaccine Required, NIHSS Must-Have : - 2 years of ICU experience - Previous travel experience preferred Description : Unit consists of 20 beds. Certifications required include ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS. Patient-to-nurse ratios are 1 to 1-2. The electronic medical record system in use is Cerner. Charge nurses do not take patient assignments. There are no nurse aides assigned. Weekend requirement is every other weekend. Holidays are rotated with permanent staff. Scrub color is navy. Tele / monitor technicians are Phillips. Monitor technicians are available if above a certain census. Nurses are required to read and interpret telemetry strips. Common medications administered include norepinephrine, precadex, epinephrine, and vasopressin. Ventilators used include Puritan Bennett 840. An intensivist is in-house 24 / 7. Respiratory therapy is available 24 / 7. Pharmacy services are available 24 / 7. Shifts are 12-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, with self-scheduling, though not always guaranteed. Nurses may float to adjacent areas to work ICU. Floor-specific orientation is one shift. Common diagnoses include neuro trauma and cardiac surgical cases such as open heart and aortic dissection. Additional patient types may include post-catheterization patients and those requiring CRRT. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience, with previous travel experience preferred.
